LLID Application
This application is an on-line map tool that can be used for Oregon
to obtain geographic information such as:
- Longitude and Latitude - At point locations in the state.
- In decimal degrees (Datum NAD 83)
- LLID - Unique 13-digit code used to identify streams in a
geo-referenced hydrography system.
- Based on a 1:100,000 scale hydrography layer (Oregon
Rivers (River Reach) 2001)
- Code derived from decimal degrees of Longitude (7
characters) and Latitude (6 characters) at mouth of a stream.
- Name - Stream name associated with LLID, if available.
- River Mile - Location in River Miles for point on a specific
stream.
- Based on a 1:100,000 scale hydrography layer (Oregon Rivers
(River Reach) 2001)

Report LLID Tool Problem
Starting from map showing streams in Oregon:
- To add information to map: Select other layers
from column on left (Lakes, Cities, etc), then click “Redraw Map”
button.
- To zoom in to map area: Select “Zoom In” at top
of map, then click on map.
- To zoom in to a sub-basin or county: Select a
sub-basin or county from drop-down list below map, then click “Go”
button.
- To locate point with known latitude and longitude
(decimal degrees): In column on left, type in latitude in
form yy.yyyy and longitude in form –xxx.xxxx then click “Locate”
button.
- To identify stream LLID and River Mile: Select
“Streams” from Features to Identify at top of map, then click a
stream on map. Stream name (if available), LLID, River Mile,
Latitude, and Longitude information will be returned for that
location in the column to left of map. Zoom in to Map Width (shown
below map) of 1 mile or less for accurate River Mile.
- To find specific stream using LLID:
De-construct LLID into longitude and latitude, and use “Locate
Lat/Long” in column on left. For example, LLID 1231425447502
represents stream with mouth at Longitude -123.1425 and Latitude
44.7502 (Santiam River).
