Overview

The 1200-Z and 1200-ZN permits regulate industrial facilities that discharge stormwater from a point source to surface waters or to conveyance systems that discharge to surface waters. Please note that this permit does not apply to facilities that discharge stormwater to the Columbia Slough Watershed; these facilities are permitted under the 1200-COLS permit.

Duration of Public Comment Period

During the 30-calendar day public notice period, the public may review the following materials:

• (1)  Permit application, which describes the industrial facility,
• (2)  The Stormwater Pollution Control Plan (SWPCP), which describes how stormwater runoff will be
        controlled on the site, and
• (3)  The draft permit assignment letter, which describes the facility’s specific monitoring requirements.

You may submit comments by mail, email or by fax to DEQ or Agent office listed below.

Special Instructions

Only submit water quality-related comments regarding the application materials. DEQ cannot act on land use-related comments because they are outside the agency's jurisdiction.

DEQ will review all comments but only provide a written response to those comments on new applications, and renewal applications for facilities that exceeded the benchmarks in the previous permit and submitted an updated SWPCP identifying treatment best management practices that is stamped by Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Geologist.

Please call the DEQ or the Agent before traveling to that office to make sure the documents are available.
