Standards Review and Rulemaking

According to the federal Clean Water Act, states are to review their water quality standards at least once every three years. This process is often referred to as the "triennial review." During the review, states revise standards to incorporate the latest scientific information and to make any other revisions the state determines are needed.

Notices of opportunities for public comment on standards documents and rulemakings are posted on this web site. If you would like to be added to an email list to receive notices about future opportunities for public comment on standards rules, please click the green envelope in the top left corner of this page.
