DEQ to Hold Meeting, Hearing on Proposed Air Permit for AG Plastic Reclaim in Salem

Innovative energy reclamation process will use pre-screened plastic feedstock to create a synthetic crude oil; information meeting and public hearing Nov. 20

What: AG Plastic Reclaim LLC proposes to construct and operate an energy reclamation facility in Brooks, Ore., that will produce a synthetic crude oil-like product from plastic feedstock. The feedstock will consist of plastics not feasible for recycling and will be pre-screened to ensure removal of plastic material containing harmful polyvinyl chlorides.


DEQ will hold an information meeting and public hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 about AG Plastic Reclaim’s proposed air permit. During the information meeting DEQ will answer questions about the permit. Once the meeting is over, DEQ will host the public hearing and invite people to provide both oral and written formal comments about the permit.


Written comments are due to DEQ by 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3.
