For release: April 30, 2012 Contacts: DEQ Sets Hearing on Proposed Prospective Purchaser Agreement for Former Blue Heron Lagoon in West Linn Meeting will start with 6:30 p.m. with information session on May 22 at Clackamas Community College; comments due May 31. What: The Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing to share information, answer questions and receive comments about DEQ’s proposed consent order for a prospective purchaser agreement with Clackamas County Service District No. 1 and Tri-City Service District. The districts are buying the property from the Blue Heron Paper Company’s bankruptcy trustee. The districts plan to redevelop the site as a wastewater discharge facility and open space. Clackamas County Service District No. 1 and Tri-City Service District are buying the property from the Blue Heron Paper Company’s bankruptcy trustees. This project does not involve the former Blue Heron Paper Company’s mill property. DEQ proposes to enter into a consent order for a prospective purchaser agreement with the districts which outlines the districts’ responsibilities for investigating and cleaning up contamination on the property. |
