The Air Quality Division, of DEQ has an immediate opening for a full time, limited duration (through June 30, 2011) with the likelihood of continuing beyond this date and becoming a regular appointment pending budget approval. The position is located in Portland, Oregon.

The Air Quality Division is comprised of four sections: Air Quality Planning, Program Operations, Technical Services, and Vehicle Inspection. These sections, in coordination with the Regions and Laboratory, are responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of air quality programs such as the vehicle inspection, business assistance, pollution tax credits, and EPA reporting.

Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with the 1988 Drug Free Workplace Act and Department Policy.

Your PD100 will be reviewed to verify that you meet the minimum requirements. To receive credit, your application form must clearly show that you have:

• Two years of web design, authoring and maintenance which includes direct technical consultation with customers, and coordinating web design projects through implementation and subsequent maintenance;

 AND

• Experience on various computer platforms, scripting languages, software programs, web browsers, networks, scanners, and conducting research on new software programs.

• Creates division web pages using the Agency template, style standards and supported editor (Front Page)
• Plans and evaluates division web pages for usability, accessibility and design.
• Identifies strengths and weaknesses associated with division’s web pages and provides solutions for implementation.
• Maintains the Air Quality Division, Q-Net, Vehicle Inspection and public web pages.
• Attends agency web trainings and workshops.
• Serves as the division expert on web page design and translates concepts into product design.
• Coordinates division objectives and content plans with Web Administration team.
• Solicits comments on web content relevancy, page functionality and overall input from regional and laboratory staff.
• Serves as the AQ address coordinator.
• Coordinates records requests and responsible for records retentions schedules.
• Serves as backup for AW Receptionist and assistant to Division Administrator.

2. Please describe your training (formal or otherwise) in using HTML for webpage development.

This position involves the extensive use of a personal computer in an office setting. Must be able to occasionally work evenings/weekends/holidays in response to emergencies such as system malfunctions or to accomplish tasks which cannot be scheduled during normal working hours.
