Product StewardshipProduct Stewardship Stakeholder GroupTo develop product stewardship policy and consider legislative priorities, Oregon DEQ, with the assistance of Metro, has convened a stakeholder group. Its purpose is to:
Meeting information All stakeholder meetings are open to the public. Meeting dates, agendas and notes are available via the Stakeholder Meetings Web page. Process/Approach The stakeholder group will work within the currently accepted definition of product stewardship: Product stewardship is an environmental management strategy in which all parties involved in the design, production, sale and use of a product take responsibility for minimizing the product’s environmental impact throughout all stages of the product’s life. The greatest responsibility lies with whoever has the most ability to affect the lifecycle environmental impacts of the product. There will be opportunity for interested persons to ask questions and provide input at meetings. The process will result in a written report addressing key guiding principles and core elements that should be included in product stewardship legislation drafted for consideration by the 2011 Oregon Legislature. |
