Waste Reduction Awareness Program (WRAP)

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, in partnership with the Association of Oregon Recyclers, created the Waste Reduction Awareness Program (WRAP) in 1993. The purpose of the program is to recognize and reward schools and individuals whose efforts have addressed solid waste problems and resulted in reduced or more efficient use of materials.

We are looking for school waste reduction programs that are permanently integrated into both school operations and classroom curricula. We would like to promote the winning schools as models for others. Awards of $500.00 are presented to winners in each category to enhance their efforts.

We currently are not accepting applications. Please check back for more details.
The application and awards are currently being reviewed and revised for the next school year. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding process and the award, please contact Michelle Shepperd at 503-229-6724, or toll-free 800-452-4011 x6724, or via .
