Portland HarborJoint Source Control StrategyIn December 2005, DEQ and EPA released the Portland Harbor Joint Source Control Strategy (JSCS), representing consensus between DEQ, EPA, and our federal, state and tribal project partners on how to identify, evaluate and prioritize upland sources of contamination that are affecting or may affect the Willamette River in the Portland Harbor area. Screening objectives and prioritization methods in the JSCS are consistent with EPA’s schedule and goals for cleaning up the river and its sediments. Over the next several years, DEQ will control upland contamination sources so that the entire river system can be cleaned up and the risk of recontamination from upland areas minimized.
DEQ reports the progress of upland source control work through periodic “Milestone Reports” to EPA. These reports are available below.
The following reports are available by contacting the Project Manager.
