Site Characteristics

General Site Description:
Site History:
Contamination Information: (12/20/05 KJR/SAS) This site is part of the larger Kingsley Field property. Assessment and cleanup activites are being performed by both the USAF and the City of Klamath Falls. Initial assessments were performed as part of ECSI#816. Because the property is very large and the areas of concern do not overlap, DEQ has assigned specific ECSI numbers for each area in order to track assessment and cleanup activities more accurately.

The area of concern is known as the Petroleum Release Site (Site #13). It is likely an aggregation of petroleum releases from multiple sources, including primarily UST releases and accidental spills (eg. Building 300). A fuel loading facility spill and a heating fuel spill also have been documented at the facility.
Manner and Time of Release:
Hazardous Substances/Waste Types: Primarily petroleum hydrocarbons.
Pathways:
Environmental/Health Threats:
Status of Investigative or Remedial Action: (12/20/05 KJR/SAS) Site groundwater known to be impacted. Monitoring wells installed.

(2/27/06 KJR/SAS) Site proposed for listing on 1/3/06. No comments received; site listed on Confirmed Release List and Inventory.
