Lockheed Martin - The Dalles Hazardous Waste Post-Closure Facility

Site ID Number: ORD 052 221 025

Site Summary

The Lockheed Martin facility (formerly known as Martin Marietta) is located at 3313 W 2nd Street in Wasco County in The Dalles, Oregon. The Lockheed Martin facility consists of a closed hazardous waste landfill, a landfill that closed under the federal Superfund Program, a closed area that once was ponds servicing air abatement controls, and a relatively small parcel of land where a 300,000 gallon tank stands. These parcels of land are all located within the boundary of the former Northwest Aluminum smelter site. The landfills closed in the early 1990's and a hazardous waste post-closure permit was issued July 2000 for the hazardous waste landfill and listing the other parcels as solid waste management units (SWMU's).
