National-scale Air Toxics Assessment (NATA)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency National Air Toxics Assessment is an evaluation of 178 high priority toxic air pollutants. This assessment gives DEQ a better understanding of the air toxics problem in Oregon. The assessment helps DEQ target areas of the state for developing more detailed information and air toxics reduction strategies.

What is the National Air Toxics Assessment?

This assessment includes three types of information:

  1. an updated national air toxics emissions inventory
  2. computer modeling estimates of air pollutant concentrations
  3. estimates of people’s exposure to these pollutants
