Water Quality Permit Program

Blue Ribbon Committee Progress Reports

The Permit Manager Team meets regularly to communicate and maintain progress towards implementing the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Committee on Wastewater Permitting. The Permit Manager Team includes Greg Geist, Zach Loboy, Eric Nigg, and Rodney Weick.

In January 2011, DEQ released Report to the Legislature - Wastewater Permitting Program Improvements and Measures. The purpose of this report is to update the Environmental Quality Commission and Legislature on specific wastewater permitting program performance measures, including DEQ's efforts in administering a watershed approach toward water pollution control permitting, as required by Senate Bill 45 passed by the Oregon Legislature in 2005. Senate Bill 45 was introduced by Governor Kulongoski on behalf of DEQ as part of the funding and program improvements package recommended by the Blue Ribbon Committee.
